We
had just completed a great week on the Houseboat "Pearl
of Kashmir". The attention of the Wangnoo family
has been exceptional. Their Friendliness & kindness
has made us feel very much at home. Mohammed Wangnoo the
head of the family is a fine man & has son Khaliq
has given us his complete attention & time. We have
found the houseboat an absolute joy to stay on & we
found the food excellent although a little "hot"
at times. It will give me great pleasure to recommend
to my friends a visit to Kashmir & feel they could
not be bettter looked after them here. Most of all we
hope we will be able to return. Douglas Anthony. |

A
really memorable short stay. We did not want for anything.
The time spent in the hills with Farooq was idyllic. Mr.
Wangnoo and his sons could not have been more charming
and helpful. It is with heavy heart that we leave this
beautiful boat and lake, but wife tells me we shall return. |

We
have greatly appreciated the hospitality and kindly concern
for all our need by Mr. Wangnoo and his sons - and the
charm and tranquility of this beautiful part of the world.
We hope to return to do some trekking, as well as fishing
--in the meantime we will recommend this family home to
others. Our particular thanks to Khaliq, Fayaz and Yaseem. |

We've
had a wonderful visit to this extremely beautiful part
of the world. There would be few places, which could rival
the beauty and charm of Kashmir. Mr Wangnoo and his staff
have been quite devoted to our needs and for that we are
most grateful. |

My
first stay on Lake Nageen, after 8 visits to Srinagar
and it has been avery beautiful and peaceful alternative
to lake Dal. The food has been about the best I have ever
had here & I was most impressed with the standard
of hygiene in the kitchen. The wangnoo family is very
kind, hospitable and professional. |

I have
no words to explain or write the beauty of Kashmir in
one page or in this book. I feel sad to leave here.
But I promise to come back again - soon with my family
to share this beautiful paradise with me.Dolly Verma

My third
visit to Kashmir & Wangnoo houseboats. Like the
other two visits, this has been relaxing and enjoyable.
My last week in India and I can't think of any place
I would rather have been.

Our
stay here has been as near perfect as one can have. We
had 6 nights on the Royal Suite..having visited some of
the other houseboats, we are thrilled to be on this one..for
the privacy and specialness. Our highlight was our trek-Pahalgam
- Aru-Lidderwat-Kolohia Glacier- Lake Tarsar - Sonmoos.The
Lake and Sonmoos were spectacular and the rest was outstanding.
In this whole world, we doubt that you could find a better
guide than Yousuf. |

I
came here for just one day to make arrangements for the
group I am bringing to Kashmir in April 1990. In just
24 hours I have fallen in love with a place & the
people of Kashmir. In this short time the wangnoo's have
become dear friends - and it is going to be a very long
12 months until my return! |

My

The hospitality of Mr. Mohammed Wangnoo and his sons left
nothing to be deserved. They are very caring and considerate
hosts. We look forward to a return visit. |

Unfortunately
we arrived at Srinagar one day later than we should because
of the conditions in the road srim Kargil to Srinagar.
Here we found paradise on earth! A big surprise to see
houseboat "Lion of Kashmir" the Sheraton of
Sheraton's, after where we had stayed the days before!
The patient smile and superb service of Ahad every morning,
lunch, afternoon tea and dinner! The tireless, stoic and
knowledgeable Ayub who guided us in Srinagar and the area
around! The cook with the excellent surprises every day
and all the helpers of the houseboat! We thank them all
from the bottom of our heart fro the unforgettable holiday
in Srinagar. Will come back one day in near future! |
